CSEET stands for Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test, which was introduced by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, in place of CS Foundation, with effect from 03 Feb 2020 onwards.
2.How many Papers/subjects are there in CSEET?
The Syllabus of CSEET shall comprise of four papers and the nomenclature of the papers is as under:
(i) Paper 1: Business Communication (50 marks)
(ii) Paper 2: Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning (50 marks)
(iii) Paper 3: Economic and Business Environment (50 marks)
(iv) Paper 4: Current Affairs, Presentation and Communication Skills (Viva Voce) (50 marks)
3.What is the Pattern of CSEET?
The ICSI will conduct CS Executive Entrance Test based on Objective Type / Multiple Choice Questions and viva-voce for testing listening, written communication and oral communication skills. There will be four papers in CS Executive Entrance Test. Each paper will contain Objective Type / Multiple Choice Questions having one or two marks each with four options with one correct answer. The duration of the Test shall be 120 minutes and viva-voce on Presentation and Communication Skills of 15 Minutes.
4.What is the Mode of CSEET Exam and its Duration?
CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) shall be conducted on a single day as per the following:
a) Computer Based Test of 120 Minutes consisting of four parts viz. (i) Business
Communication; (ii) Legal Aptitude & Logical Reasoning (iii) Economic and Business
Environment & (iv) Current Affairs; and b) Viva Voce of 15 Minutes on “Presentation and Communication Skills”.
5.How many times are CSEET exams conducted in a year? What is Exam Session of CSEET?
4 Times in a Calendar Year – January, May, July and November every year.
6.How the Viva-Voce will be conducted when the CSEET Exam is 100% Computer Based?
The Presentation and Communication Skills (Viva Voce) of 15 Minutes for 30 Marks will be conducted simultaneously with or immediately after the MCQ based CBT through online mode using artificial intelligence (AI) or through recoded videos at the designated Test Centres.
7.What is the basic eligibility to opt for CSEET/ to join CS Course?
HSC (+2) Pass irrespective of marks and subjects. Those who have appeared and waiting for the result of +2 exams may also apply and appear in CSEET. A candidate passed / appearing in the Senior Secondary (10+2) Examination or equivalent thereto shall be eligible to appear in the CSEET.
8.Are Tamil Medium and Other Group students eligible to register for CSEET?
Yes, why not? Any student who has passed HSC (+2) of any Group/subject may appear for CSEET and opt CS Professional Course for their bright future.
9.Are Graduates/Post Graduates are exempted from CSEET?
No. All Graduates/ Post Graduates who were hitherto eligible for registration directly to
CS Executive Programme, shall also be required to pass the CSEET to become eligible for registration to CS Executive Programme.
10.Is anybody EXEMPTED from CSEET? What about its exemptions?
Yes. Two kinds of exemptions are available from CSEET as given below:
Candidates who have passed CS Foundation Programme shall be exempted from CSEET without any payment of exemption fee.
Candidates who have passed the Final Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and/or The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) are exempted from CSEET and shall pay Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only) towards exemption fee at the time of Registration to CS Executive Programme.
11.Is any Exemption Fee applicable for Qualified Chartered Accountants and Cost & Management Accountants? Or can they register for CS Executive Program directly without paying any Fee to the ICSI?
Candidates who have passed the Final Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and/or The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) shall pay Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand Only) towards exemption fee at the time of Registration to CS Executive Programme.
12.What is the Validity of CSEET Certificate?
It is ONE year from the Result Declaration Date to register for CS Executive Program.
13.What will happen if a CSEET QUALIFIED Student failed to register within a year from the Date of Result Declaration?
In this case, the student has to appear once again in CSEET and should pass the same to get qualified for the Registration of CS Executive Program.
14.Has every time a student pay the Fee for CSEET?
Yes. A student who wants to appear for CSEET should pay the Exam Fee every time, whenever he/she appears.
15.What is the Passing Criteria in CSEET?
Candidates shall be declared ‘PASS’ in CSEET on securing 40% marks in each paper and 50% marks in the aggregate.
16.Is there any Negative Mark for wrong answers in CSEET?
No Negative Marks in CSEET for any Paper for any wrong answer.
17.When the aspirant can Register for CS Executive Programme, if he/she wants to pursue the CS Qualification?
Candidate has passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 system) conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognised by the Central Government or State Government or equivalent thereto for the purposes of admission to Bachelor’s degree course; and Candidate has passed Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) conducted by the Institute. The date of result of CSEET should not be older than one year prior to the date of such registration.
18.Where the CSEET Exam will be conducted?
The examination will be held at multiple test centres across the country to ensure that the CSEET is conducted on a single day for all the registered candidates.
19.What is the Fee for Registration to CSEET?
The Registration Fees for appearing in CSEET is Rs1,000/- (Rupees One Thousand Only) per student per appearance. The concession in fee shall be applicable to various categories of students which can be had from www.icsi.edu.in. in its student portal/CSEET Prospectus.
20.What is the Objectives of Paper – 1: Business Communication in CSEET?
To test the knowledge of the candidates pertaining to essentials of English Grammar and critical aspects of Business Communication.
21.What is the Objectives of Paper – 2: Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning?
To test basic understanding of Laws, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning skills which is very essential for CS Professional Course.
22.What is the Objectives of Paper – 3: Economic & Business Environment?
To test understanding on concepts of Micro & Macro Economics with a focus on Indian economic system. To test understanding on various crucial elements of business environment.
23.What is the Objectives of Paper – 4: Current Affairs, Presentation and Communication Skills (Viva Voce)?
To test the awareness of candidates with reference to current affairs of national and international importance.To test the listening and writing skills of the candidates.
