2.Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business:
You gain the Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business when you pass:
a) all the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills exams of the ACCA Qualification.
b) the Ethics and Professional Skills module.

Please note students will need to have taken and passed at least two of the Applied Skills exams in order to be eligible to get the Advanced Diploma.
Certified Accounting Technician (CAT):
Accounting technicians work across sectors in private, public and not for profit
organisations. They carry out a range of practical accountancy, financial and taxation
work.
This work includes:
Checking and analysing financial information used by accountants
Preparing financial information required by professional accountants.
Examples of work performed by accounting technicians includes:
administering payroll
arrangement payment of invoices
bookkeeping
accounts preparation
creating reports, budgets and statements.
CAT is a qualification in its own right and offers the opportunity to progress onto the full ACCA qualification.
Eligibility to become an Accounting Technician (CAT):
To achieve this award, you will need to complete foundation-level qualifications given below:
FA 1: Recording Financial Transactions
MA1: Management Information
FA 2: Maintaining Financial Records
MA2: Managing Costs & Finance
FBT : Foundations in Business and Technology
FFA : Financial Accounting
FMA: Management Accounting
And also
a) One year's relevant practical experience in an accounting role to show you can use your knowledge from the exams in the workplace.
b) The 'Foundations in Professionalism' module
c) Two additional specialist exams as follows:
FTX - Foundations in Taxation + Foundations in Professionalism (OR)
FFM - Foundations in Financial Management + Foundations in Professionalism (OR)
FAU - Foundations in Audit + Foundations in Professionalism
Foundation certificates in Taxation, Financial Management and Audit – Specialist Area for CAT Qualification:
You can complete the FTX, FFM and FAU exams individually, and if you complete the Foundations in Professionalism module alongside any one of these exams, you will be awarded a certificate in that subject.
Work experience:
In addition to the exams and ethics components, students who wish to complete the CAT qualification must complete one year's work experience in a relevant accounting role, to help demonstrate to potential employers that you can apply your knowledge in the workplace and have practical skills. You can gain your practical experience before, during or after you complete your exams.
So if you want to work (or already are working) in tax, financial management or audit and want certification for your skills, these certificates are perfect for you.
Exemptions can be awarded from Foundations level exams based on qualifications held and work experience achieved (this relates to the CAT Qualification only).
Mode of Exam for CAT: The first seven exams in the Foundations in Accountancy suite of awards and the CAT qualification are also taken by on-demand CBE format.
